I sit down with a pen and paper and write stuff that somehow makes sense. Sometimes I even come up with a title before I write the first verse. It all depends on how the song comes about.
The things around me. I've never had a serious girlfriend, yet I've written relationship songs (Nothing I Won't Do, If I Were A Millionaire, Not Good Enough to name a few). A couple of my mates have been in unsuccessful relationships. In fact, my best mate's ex is (as of writing this) dating a TikToker of all things. I've also written songs about things that have happened to me (Not Enough To Know, Plain View, Inside of Me, Yellow Dog, to name a few). Also, theres songs like 'Taylor' and '(I'm A) Cowboy', which are just expanded ideas I've had at one point or another.
'Sex Rampage' didn't come out all that great upon looking back, so the tracks I hated got re-recorded for Intamiss.

'Taylor' off of Intamiss is about Taylor Swift, 'My Mates Ex' is about my mate's ex, who I saw making out with her now ex-boyfriend when I was getting an amp from another room (this is the same one that's going out with the TikToker, she's had a lot of boyfriends), there's a bit on the song 'I've Moved On From You' about a person who fucked up my friend group by being a cunt that's thinly veiled as being about the same girl as on Voila, but only the people I tell know that, 'Sleepy Whistle' is about a friend who would never come to gatherings in Sydney, 'Forget You', 'Dump Yr Boyfriend and Go With Me' and 'Gracelands Drive' are also about the Voila girl, 'Underneath' is about a girl I had a crush on in Year 11, 'Back Seat of My Car' is about Celeste Rivas Hernandez being found in the back of D4VD's car (I wrote the song as the news was breaking before they got her identity), 'If I Were A Millionaire' is about a breakup involving 2 people in the friend group, 'Nothing I Won't Do' is about the same 2 people, the names of the people in 'Settling Down' are names of real people I know, but they're not based on anyone, the second verse of 'Sun Goes Down' is actually about the Rouse Hill Guy, 'Newcastle Girls' is about an actual girl I saw at Newcastle who was a 10/10 in the looks department, 'Modern Day Courtney Love' is about a person who's initials are A.G. and 'Turn It Off' is about how much I hate sombr. and his crappy music. The rest are figmentations of my imagination.
Yes and no. The parts about stinking of gin, my mate Danny not being let in, the dancefloor and the drunk girl, the bit in the car park, being at Lone Star and finding a glass in the toilet are true. The bit about glassing some girls boyfriend did not happen as it's better than what we ended up doing (talking about some stupid fucking Mean Girls hate list that I was on, my guess was cos of my mate's ex, who's now going out with that TikToker).
